SPRING 2018 PLAYOFF BRACKETS



PLEASE READ-EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY-BAT DECERTIFIED

Northwest Baseball is a Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League which uses the bat rules under USA Baseball.

We were officially informed today (as of Friday, May 4th) that the Easton Ghost X YBB18GX10 30/20 2 5/8" (or the "Easton Ghost X 30/20 5/8" at retail) has been decertified by USA Baseball and is no longer an approved bat under the USABat Standard. See official notice below.

USA Baseball informed youth organizations, including Babe Ruth League, Inc., that effective immediately and until further notice, the bat identified as the Easton Ghost X YBB18GX10 30/20 2 5/8" (or the "Easton Ghost X 30/20 5/8" at retail) has been decertified by USA Baseball and is no longer an approved bat under the USABat Standard.

Length: 30" (-10)
All other certified lengths and drops of the Easton Ghost X USABat remain approved for play

If any of these bats are used during competition, it should be considered an illegal and non-compliant bat, and subject to league rules concerning the use of illegal or unapproved bats. Coaches and team administrators are encouraged to check their team's bats and withhold these bats from play. League administrators should share this information with their umpires.

2018 Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Bat Rules

Bat Rules for Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth (as well as all other little leagues) have changed as of Jan 1, 2018.  These are the new bat rules that will be used as of the Spring 2018 season.

Cal Ripken is for all ages 4-12 (Tball, Rookie, A, AA, Minors, AAA, Majors).  Babe Ruth is for ages 13-15 (Prep)

Northwest Bakersfield Baseball implements rules specific to this organization and they vary for each age group.  Those specific rules can be found in the rules section or by selecting the link below.  

Every coach should have a copy of these rules on hand at every game to refer to.

Smoking of Cigarettes, 
E-cigarettes and Vapor Devices is Prohibited
 

Smoking or use of any tobacco product, electronic cigarette, or vapor device while supervising any child participating in any activity associated with Northwest Bakersfield Baseball is prohibited. Smoking or use of any tobacco product, electronic cigarette, or vapor device while on the Northwest Bakersfield Baseball complex will only be permitted in the parking areas.

No Pets at the Facility

Animals are NOT allowed at the Northwest Bakersfield Baseball Facility. - No Exceptions. Service dogs are the only animals permitted and must be on a leash per ADA Regulations. Comfort dogs, frequently found being carried in beach type bags are not considered service dogs per ADA Regulations and are not allowed on the complex.

Scooters, skateboards, Razor Scooters, hover boards, or other wheeled conveyances are NOT to be used inside the facility unless required by ADA requirements.
