SPRING 2021 REGISTRATION OPEN

We are opening registration for the Spring 2021 season. But with this exciting news, please read carefully the information below before clicking the register button.

Our registration period is going to be short. So be sure to register as soon as you can!  Registration deadline is March 19, 2021.

NOTE:  With guidelines allowing us to open this also means we will not be shutdown in the middle. Under the new guidelines for youth sports, we don’t have to make the red tier to play ball. We have to make an adjusted ratio of 14 or less cases per 100,000 and we hit that 3/2/21. This makes it very unlikely that we would fall back into a no games tier!! So get signed up, and get ready to play ball!

Spring 2021 Cost:
Tball (ages 4-5):  $175
(player must turn 4 by Aug 31, 2021)

All other Age Divisions (ages 6-15) : $205
(player cannot turn 16 prior to 5/1/2021)

Spring 2020 registration credit:  We have a list for all  those that requested a credit.  Before you register you will need to send an email to the email listed below to request your credit/discount code.  Your credit cannot be added after you register. The code is only good for 1 player.  You will have to register individually for multiple players in a household in order to use a credit code for each player.  Only 1 credit per player.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  We are not offering sibling discounts.  For the players that aged out I’m truly sorry but as we stated we are not doing cash refunds!

Head or Assistant coach: Please remember when you are registering to mark if you want to be a head coach or assistant coach. If you did the background check last spring you are good through this year. If you did it in 2019 you will have to do it again. The Safe Play Act has to be done at the same time. A link will be posted on our website to do both online. You do not go down and get fingerprinted anymore.

Dates (Subject to change): Opening Day: April 10, 2021. Games: 1 during the week and every Saturday. Last game: May 15, 2021. Playoff week: May 17, 2021

We cannot wait to see everyone and get the season started. Stay safe and healthy. Please send all questions and  credit/discount code request to baseball@centralcalinc.comBe sure to include player name and birth date.

IN MEMORY OF MOSES AGUIRRE 1932-2020

All of us at Northwest Bakersfield Baseball lost our good friend and former grounds manager Moses Aguirre. Mo lost his battle to Covid December 13th in Bakersfield.

Moses loved working with his hands and spent many years tending to the baseball fields for JBA and, later, Northwest Baseball near Sam Lynn Ballpark. The complex was dedicated to Moses and Rosie Aguirre in March 2007, and they made many friends through their retirement years.

Moses was a good man, with a big smile, hearty laugh, and a kind heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family and tending to his backyard and shop. He was always available to help with any project even after retiring from Northwest. This was his so called side job after retiring from the railroad in 1993. We will miss you Mo, and everyone at Northwest thanks you for your hard work and dedication to the families at our amazing park.

The family of Moses asks in lieu of flowers please make a donation to his beloved ball park.

Keep the memories alive, donate today!

COVID has hit Northwest Bakersfield Baseball extremely hard financially.  With the cancellation of the 2020 Spring season and not being able to play the 2020 Fall season, we haven't had any registration or snack bar revenue in several months, and now a new wave of Covid is hitting our area.

The operating budget to maintain the facility on a monthly basis runs between $8,000-$11,000 each month even when teams are not playing at the fields.  This covers PG&E, water, mowing of the fields, payroll for the maintenance crew, and various necessary repairs and maintenance costs to keep the facility operational.  All others are unpaid volunteers of the organization.

Unfortunately, we are unsure when a new season may resume.  We have been ordered by the State of California and County of Kern to remain shut down.

As we continue to be shut down the facility still requires daily upkeep.  The grass continues to grow and things around the facility continue to need repair.

At this point, our only hope in keeping Northwest Bakersfield Baseball open for the future is to reach out to the public for support until the point in time we are able to resume normal league play.

Northwest Bakersfield Baseball serves between 1,300-1,600 youth athletes in Kern Country each year.  Losing an organization like this would be detrimental to the youth in Kern County that we serve in our area.

Northwest Bakersfield Baseball has thousands of alumni that we are pleading to for donations to help the league survive this rough time.    Those of you that played or had children that played we are hoping you remember those memories that you experienced out there when you were a part of the organization.

We are also looking for corporate sponsorships if you or your company is interested.

Click the Donate link above to help out the league or make a direct donation by emailing us at northwestbakersfieldbaseball@gmail.com

All of us at Northwest Bakersfield Baseball THANK YOU!

How to use scoreboard

The scoreboards are working and ready to use. We ask that only adults operate them. They are $900 each to replace. Watch the video and it will walk you step by step on how to use the controller. When your game is over please return and plug the controller in the room behind the bathrooms. You will see a table where they are stored. Good luck this Spring.

Northwest Baseball has been dealing with some internet issues, and that's why our cams have been down for the Fall season. Spectrum doesn't offer service on our side of Chester, so we have had to get creative to make this happen. Prime Time Signs has let us install service, and American Business Machines is helping us fix this problem free of charge. We are hoping to have our camera network for games up and running soon.

WE HOPE TO HAVE OUR GAME CAMS BACK SOON!
**Northwest Baseball has gone high tech! If you have loved ones who won't be able to make the tournament, we have you covered! If your team plays on fields 5,6,7,8 they will be live each day. The fee to watch the games is FREE, but donations are accepted on the camera page and helps with our streaming costs! All you have to do is go to the LIVE CAM tab at the top of our website and select your field.

*NOTE: We will not take calls or emails about plays you may disagree with on our feeds, the umpires are the last call!!

Thanks for joining us at Northwest Bakersfield Baseball!
